Herta Camping

Welcome to Herta Camping, a small and personal member-run campsite on southeastern Gotland – perfect for those looking for peace, nature and proximity to the sea. The campsite is open from 1 May to 30 September and is beautifully situated about 6 km east of Visby and 18 km north of Hemse.
There are four caravan/motorhome pitches and four tent pitches, which makes the campsite small-scale and pleasant – a perfect choice for families with children, nature lovers and those who want to get away from the crowds.
 
Location and surroundings
Herta Camping is located just above the idyllic Herta fishing village and the shallow sandy beach, a popular swimming spot among both Gotlanders and visitors. Within walking distance you will find the Herta kiosk that serves pizza, ice cream and sweets – also with beer and wine rights.
In the immediate area there are restaurants, attractions and two golf courses, as well as nice roads for cycling and car trips towards När, Burs and Hemse. Even though a road passes the campsite, it is not perceived as disturbing.
 
Accommodation & facilities
Caravan/motorhome pitches:
Pitches A and B: about 8x9 meters, with sea view, are located at the entrance near the road to the fishing village.
Pitches C and D: about 6x11 meters, located inside the area near the playground and service building.
Price: 350 SEK/day. Electricity and WiFi are included.
Tent sites:
Pitches F, G, H and I: about 5x5 meters, flat grassy areas in lush birch forest.
Price: 150 SEK/night. Electricity and WiFi are included – electric cord is available to borrow.
Vehicles with roof tents we refer to the caravan/motorhome pitches.

Services and amenities
The campsite offers a simple but well-maintained standard, perfect for those who appreciate the genuine and functional:
Service building with 2 showers (10 SEK/shower via Swish), 4 toilets
Shared kitchen with the possibility to cook, wash dishes, and access to fridge and freezer
Barbecue area for cozy evenings
Washing machine and dryer (tokens can be bought on site) 20 SEK/token
Playground with sandpit, slide and trampoline – appreciated by our younger guests
The water at the campsite is approved for consumption (e.g. cooking, showering, brushing your teeth), but may be discoloured with a slight off-taste.
 
Check-in and contact
Herta Camping is a non-profit campsite, without a staffed reception – but our campsite hosts are on hand to help you if needed.
Check-in: from 15:00 on the day of arrival
Check-out: no later than 12:00 on the day of departure
Pre-arrival: You will receive a check-in email 3 days before your booked stay
In case of late arrival: Please let us know if you are arriving in the evening or at night
